Making progress toward opening Mozambique…

as a new Grace Ministries International field.
Now that all the paperwork has been submitted to the government, GMI missionary Kennedy Simtowe is pleased to report that Grace Church in Mozambique will soon be issued its registration certificate. Upon issuance of this certificate, Kennedy and Sofia will be able to apply for their work permit allowing them to live and serve in the country. There are nearly 10 churches or church branches affiliated with GMI in Mozambique which Kennedy expects to visit in the coming month. As he travels he will share the church planting vision for the country, identify potential Bible school students, investigate new areas for evangelism, and teach seminars for church leaders. Continue to pray as GMI strives to meet its Vision 2023 goals.

A team of six Bible teachers and pastors led by GMI board member Jim Moore offered five days of workshops July 3-7 in Kabwe, Zambia. The photo above is GMI Board member and pastor, Cliff Tulsie, teaching a workshop during the conference. The team provided over 50 different workshops which the 75 church leaders from countries such as Zambia, Cameroon, Zimbabwe, Congo, and Malawi attended. Summarizing the feel of the conference, team leader Jim Moore said, “The Africans just went on and on about how much they were learning and how much they enjoyed the conference. There was so much synergy between the Africans who attended. That synergy was especially seen in how the visitors outside of Zambia interacted with the leaders from Zambia.”

While this trip was incredibly successful, it highlighted the need for missionaries to serve with GMI in Zambia to help church leaders develop a theological education program to better equip their pastors and train new ones. Though GMI missionary candidates Tom and Michelle Sanchez are raising support to spend the better part of 2018 in Zambia before moving to Burundi to open that country as a new field, GMI is still looking for missionaries to serve long term in Zambia. Would you consider serving in Zambia?

Pastor Method Mwendapole, serving in the Mwanza Region of Tanzania, shares that recently he and his team held three outdoor evangelistic meetings and seminars for new believers. As a result of these efforts two new churches have been planted bringing the total to six in the region. GMI continues to encourage and invent in the efforts of individual ministries in Tanzania such as the outreach in Mwanza.

GMI missionary Eric Mango is in Ghana until July 25 attending a conference and conducting our second survey trip in that country as we inventigate potential new fields. Pray for us as we continue to evaluate Ghana as a place where we can send missionaries to share God’s grace.

As you consider these examples of how the Lord is working where GMI is working, please know that we need your help. Think about how you can SEND, GO, and PRAY.

Pressing towards the goal,

Jeremy Clark
Executive Director
