Club Maravilla – Grand Opening

This post is written by Kaylah Fosnot, missionary to Puerto Rico. It is a report on the opening of the after-school program she has moved to Puerto Rico to start. It is exciting to see the Lord work and lead in all of this, and we praise the Lord along with all those involved with the beginning of Club Maravilla as they now have regularly, approximately 50 kids every afternoon.

“I am excited to write to you and let you know that Club Maravilla is officially open! We had a fantastic week celebrating the grand opening with games, cooking classes, dance troupes, drama teams, and a carnival! All during the week, we worked on different activities that we could perform for the parents on Friday night. Since we are a club for kids after school, rarely do we see parents around the center. Our goal was to provide a program where we could get the parents there to see what we do. I have to be honest, I really didn’t think any of our kids would come back for our evening program, and definitely didn’t think any parents would come. But, God is amazing! All forty of our kids came back decked out in their Club shirts and we had five new sets of parents there! It was amazing! The kids put on an amazing show and I got to meet and connect with parents. The whole night brought me to tears, because it showed the way God has been faithful in my life to lead me to this point and in the opening of this center. I was in awe.

This week has truly been amazing. I want to thank you all for your prayers and support. God clearly moved in the hearts of those who attended this grand opening and the Word was spread about the love of Christ. We even welcomed a new brother into the family of God. Please continue to pray for us as we are now open every day, and will continue to serve this barrio with the love of Jesus Christ. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!”
