EXITE 2011: Boot Camp

We are having a great time preparing for Costa Rica! We have been learning about our strengths, preparing for ministry, learning about cultural differences, and bonding as a team. Each morning, we have time for devotions and spending time with God. Our verse this morning was John 17:3, “And this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” We are excited to share God’s love with others! Tomorrow is our final day of Boot Camp. We will continue preparing for our time in Costa Rica, and will also purchase ministry supplies. Please pray that our last day of preparations is productive and that our team meshes well.

I asked a few of my teammates to tell me their favorite part of Boot Camp and also what they’re looking forward to in Costa Rica. This is what they had to say:

Getting to know all the kind and fun people! I’m looking forward to working with the kids. -Joy

I love hanging out with and getting to know people. I am looking forward to seeing the church and the people. -Caleb

My favorite part of boot camp is getting to know my team members. I am looking forward to seeing the country and interacting with the people. -Kendra

Please continue praying for us! Thanks,
Rachel Kieda

  1. We’re praying for all of you. You mission is so important in this hurting world. We thank God for all of you.

  2. Praying for blessings, ministry, growth, sunshine and laughter, cool breezes, time in The Word, friendships and many photo ops and comfortable beds to rest your weary bodies at night. Extend my greetings to Don Ten Hoeve. I will be praying!

  3. What a blessing you are and you have been receiving, PRAISE THE LORD. Our prayers for you and the ministry continue until you return. It sounds like boot camp is a great place of preparation. When you get to Costa Rica the team will open up like a beautiful flower and bloom showing all of God’s glory. May all you do bring Glory to God.

  4. This is really exciting!!! I am praying for you all that God will make an impact on your hearts as much as he made on mine when I was there!

  5. May God prepare the hearts of all you meet. I know He has wonderful plans for how He will use you to spread His love to the people in Costa Rica!
